Currency:

Transport:

 

By car -

Banja Luka is located on the highway M16 with the international label E661 that is withal the most important highway in this region. This itinerary connects Central Europe and Eastern Europe with the Adriatic coast, which was used by ancient Romans for the purpose of connecting Dalmatia and Pannonia. Banjaluka is the intersection of regional itineraries on the east-west direction as well as the southeast- southwest direction that connect the Town with Prijedor, Doboj, Derventa, Teslić, Ključ and other places. In addition, the whole region is intersected by concrete roads of local importance. 

Zagreb is around 167 kilometres away from Banja Luka. If you come to Banja Luka from Zagreb enter the motorway E70 to east and Belgrade. On the kilometre 106, from Zagreb, in the place Okučani come out of the motorway and turn right to the road E661 and drive south to border crossing of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Gradiška (11kilometers). From Gradiška you continue via the same road (E661) to south and Banja Luka (50kilometers).

Beograd is 350 kilometres away from Banja Luka. If you come to Banja Luka from Belgrade, enter the highway E70 to west and Zagreb. On the kilometre 300 in the place Okučani come out from the highway and turn right to the road E661 and drive south to border crossing of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Gradiška (11kilometers). From Gradiška you continue via the same road (E661)to south and Banja Luka (50kilometers).

Sarajevo is around 250 kilometres away from Banja Luka. If you come to Banja Luka from Sarajevo go to southwest to the place Kakanj and highway E-73 and on that road and the sixtieth kilometre you have two different roads that lead to Banja Luka. The first, better and longer, continues via the road E73 to north and places Zenica and Maglaj, and on the seventeenth kilometre from Doboj turn left and continue the trip towards Derventa, Prnjavor and Klašnice. In Klašnice you turn left and enter the highway M16 (E661) and continue driving 16 kilometre south for Banjaluka. The second, shorter and much more interesting road will get you to the desired destination if you turn right and enter the highway E661 to Vitez, Travnik, Jajce and further to Banja Luka.

 

By bus - 

Network of bus routes covers all major places in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Besides a large number of lines to Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, from the bus station in Banja Luka you can directly travel to ten countries of the European Union.
Depending on the day, over 300 buses carries thousands of passengers.

By plane - 

For coming to Banja Luka you can use Banjaluka, Zagreb, Sarajevo or Belgrade airport. If you use neighbouring airports you will have to use transfer to Banja Luka by some other vehicle (bus, train, rent-a-car and so on.)
International airport Banja Luka is located on the west side of the highway M16 (E-661) Banja Luka-Gradiška, 1.1 kilometres away from this road. It is located at the 44° 56’ 29” north geographical width and 17° 17’ 51” east geographical length. Its altitude is 122 m, and magnetic declination is two degrees to east. It is 23 kilometres north from Banja Luka.

By train -

A railroad passes through Banja Luka and it connects the city to the Central Europe and Eastern Europe, as well as other parts of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The railroad Banja Luka- Dobrljin, which was put into action in 1873, is the first railroad of normal track in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
